developing your own color palette

Learning how to combine and use colors can be a trial. Whether you work with fabric, paint, paper, yarn, or anything else, this website and series of lessons can help us by taking us through the process of making a “color journal.”

What’s better is that it’s not expensive, is personalizable so the art to come out of it is your own and not a pale imitation, and it might itself be a creative enterprise. Whatever we can do to fight back the Unmaking is worthwhile, yes? It might even save you some frustration and money, though of course we all know that artistic wrong-turns are often useful learning experiences–it just doesn’t feel that way at 3:00 in the morning when you’ve just painted a very large and very expensive canvas the totally wrong color you spent hours mixing to get it just… wrong.

So get your blank book/journal and get started!
