1st Art Club of Dallas has a brief, subjective look at choosing acrylics vs. oils as a medium for your work. I’d love to hear anyone’s comments on this subject in general or responses to this specific article.

I’ve heard that if you’re only worried about the price for which your pieces sell, you should definitely choose oils, but if you want them to be less subject to weather and/or storage problems, then you should likely choose acrylics, which are essentially plastics, but I wonder about that last, given that we don’t exactly have information about how acrylics survive after, say, 100 years.
Anyone know a good way of making acrylics look less plastic? I’ve seen something as simple as adding a tiny touch of Payne’s Grey, making them look less “bright,” and that worked a little bit.
