Yay, still working my way through SoulSilver, and I caught my beloved Vulpix! It was a female, so I named her Kitsune.
I have also discovered that you can get a fire stone in SS, by saving up 900 points (I think it was) in the Pokethlon Dome fighting ring thingy. This would allow me to evolve my Vulpix into a Ninetales! Wooo!
Totally not ashamed of how dorkily happy this makes me.
